The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) This project consists of renovating surfaces on 21 spillway tainter gates (24,400 mm wide x 9,576 mm high) including skinplates, ribs, girders, struts, strut bracing, trunnion bearing and trunnion beam. Work includes removal of existing paint coatings, cleaning and preparation of surfaces, and application of new vinyl paint. Other work includes structural steel fabrication, erection and welding, and lead-based paint abatement and disposal. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 500 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bid sets will be available on/a January 3, 1996. Half-size plans and specifications will be furnished upon request. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available.
