project consists of an addition and alterations to Hulls Cove Visitor
Center at Acadia National Park. Base bid includes entire framing of
addition including interior partitions; complete weathertight
enclosure; roof drainage; doors; window; exterior finishes; required
selective demolition; dust-proof temporary barriers separating new work
from existing building; rough plumbing; and modifications to the
heating and electrical systems to accommodate the openings between
lobby and existing first floor and lobby and the existing second floor.
Option items (six items) include exit stairs from second floor, new
exit from auditorium with pedestrian bridge, elevator installation,
fire retardant coating to interior wood shakes, bathrooms relocation,
and air conditioning system to main hall and auditorium. Options can be
elected at anytime during the contract performance period. The
estimated construction range is between $100,000 and $250,000. This
solicitation is issued pursuant to P.L. 100-656, Small Business
Competitive Demonstration Program, and is open to all size firms. This
solicitation is a 100% Labor Surplus Area Set-Aside. This project
appeared in the Commerce Business Daily in August 1995. Those people
