45 -- ELECTRIC TOILETS DUE 010596 POC Robert R. Curtis, Contract Specialist; 301/713-0823 The National Weather Service (NWS) is seeking sources for off-the-shelf electric toilets to be used at remote radar site locations. The NWS is requesting that potential vendors provide the following information: general description of their toilet design, performance characteristics, maintenance information, and technical documentation. The electric toilet unit must provide for the incineration of human waste (urine, solids, paper) at remote facilities lacking the availability of water, plumbing, or routine access by maintenance vehicles and non-Government personnel. The unit must be designed for installation in a 5 foot square area, including space for operation and maintenance, located within a structure designed for human habitation during emergencies. Storage space for liquids, chemicals, combustible fuels, or organic materials is not available for waste collection, transformation, or disposal of human waste and used sundry paper products. Three-phase, 208 volt, 60 Hz electric power will be available in the area designed for toilet installation. Venting capability can also be provided. The Government will not award a contract as a result of this CBD announcement. This notice is solely to identify availability of suitable products. Notice of any solicitations will be published in the CBD prior to the issuance of any solicitation. All parties interested in providing product information to meet all (or parts) of the stated requirements should submit their package not later than January 5, 1996 to the point of contact and address cited above.
