(317)306-3066 This is a market survey requesting information to
satisfy a requirement for a Radar Antenna/Gimbal assembly capable of
providing 2-axis scans in the I/J Band RF spectrum. This item will be
used in a US Navy airborne, 20 inch diameter podded, electronic
countermeasure system. The Navy intends to investigate availability of
qualified sources that have a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) or
non-developmental item (NDI) that can be used in a cost effective
manner. Potential vendors must have a radar antenna/gimbal assembly
that meets the following criteria: a) Interchangeable antenna capable
of frequency coverage in the 7.6 - 9.6 GHz and 14.2 - 17.0 Ghz with
switchable or reconfigurable H/V polarizations, b) Full monopulse
capability with peak power handling of 100 kW minimum at 2.0:1 VSWR, c)
The gimbal must be capable of azimuth and elevation scans up to +/- 50
degrees in azimuth and 20 degrees up to 50 degrees down in elevation
with scan rates in excess of 100 degrees per second, possible roll axis
stabilization and d) The gimbal electronics should be controllable
through standard digital interfaces. Responding parties should provide
a description of their proposed hardware, identify its present
utilization, status of production, qualification, lead time, and
production cost predicated upon an initial procurement of 4-8
engineering models beginning in FY-98. Only written responses will be
accepted as this market survey is for informational and planning
purposes only and does not constitute a request for bids or proposals
and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government nor does
the government intend to pay for any expense incurred by any
respondents to this market survey. Interested sources should submit
requested information to Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division,
