The Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, GA intends to acquire various hardware and software components from PictureTel Corporation for the establishment of a Defense Information Systems Agency Network (DISN) Video Services Standard Hub that will be used for the development and evolution of DISN vedeo conferencing services. These specific Picturetel components and software are required since the Defense Information Systems Agecny's (DISA) customers have chosen the same equipment in support of their respective Video Conferencing Center (VTC) efforts. The components of the system are as follows: One such MT-550 Montage 550 W/4 Ports; One each MT-243CC, H.243 Chair Control Software; One each MT-PMC Picturetel Controller Software; One each MT-MB01, Multipoint Bridging Processor Unit; One each MT-HP50, SG4 Video for Montage 550; One each MT-CAS, H.243 & M800 Cascading Software; Four each MT-HSDM, Montage Hi-Speed Data Module; Eight each MT-449DTM, Montage RS-449 DTE Male Cable; and One Each MT-CKA Montage Country Kit. No contract award will be made on the basis of any responses to this notice, because the synopsis of intent to place a contract shall not be considered as a solicitation. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. Written responses, supporting documentation and prices must be received within 15 calendar days after publication of this synopsis and must provide information that substantiates the ability to satisfy the above requirements. If no repsones are recevied which meet the Government's requirements at a lower overall cost to the Government, a contract will be placed with PictureTel Corporation of Fairfax, VA as stated above without further notice.
