C -- DESIGN OF THE NEW SANTURCE CARRIER ANNEX IN PUERTO RICO Sol 332495-96-A-0032, Due 011596, POC Tom Toy, Chairman, A-E Evaluation Board. The contract for Architect-Engineer (A-E) services consists of the preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates for the design of the new Santurce Carrier Annex in Puerto Rico. Approx. Bldg size: 16,500 SF; Site Size: 67,000 SF: Location: To be determined. The estimated total project construction cost is $2.5 million. The contract will be firm fixed price negotiated type and will contain an option to the U.S.P.S. for Title II Construction Contract Services. Firms applying should have expertise in AutoCAD (Release 12 or 13). Design will be based on USPS standard building design in AutoCAD format. Successful A/E firm will be responsible for site adaptation, structural, HVAC, plumbing and electrical design. A/E firms that have the qualifications to perform the services described previously are invited to submit a completed SF 255, Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire for Specific Project; a completed SF 254, Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire; and a completed SF 254 for each of its proposed consultants to the office shown above, postmarked not later than Jan 15, 1996. The selection will be conducted by using both the submitted SF 255 and the SF 254s. Interested firms with more than one office must indicate on their SF 255 the staffing composition of the office in which the work will be performed. Consideration will be given to firms responding to this advertisement whose main place of business is within the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Architectural and Engineering firms will be considered as local only if their sole office is in the local geographic area and all the design, coordination, and management of the project will be performed in that office. The contract contains a requirement for evidence of current errors and omissions insurance. The U.S. Postal Service reserves the right to issue multiple contracts under this award for new construction design within a period of three years. To the fullest extent, the U.S. Postal Service welcomes the participation of women and/or minority owned/operated A-E firms. It is prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage, or brokerage fee to any person or firm contingent upon or resulting from award of contract for this project. Personal visits and phone calls for the purpose of discussing this project are not permitted. No other general notification of this project will be made. Submissions will not be retained or returned.
