A -- F/A-18 EMBEDDED GPS/INS (EGI) SOL N00019-95-G-0006 POC Contact, Marina Atchison, Phone (703)604-6100 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue an order against Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-95-G-0006 for retrofit of a fifth Avionics Multiplex (AVMUX) Bus System into F/A-18A/B aircraft in support of retrofit of ECP-521 Embedded Global Positioning System (GPS)/Inertial Navigation System (INS) (EGI) into F/A-18 Aircraft. NAVAIR intends to negotiate this order with McDonnell Douglas Aerospace, the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft, and as such, the only firm possesing the technical knowledge and expertise, facilities, and unique aircraft data bases necessary to perform the effort within the required timeframe.
