The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division has a requirement for a system to recondition used synthetic, semi-synthetic, emulsifier or water soluble cutting fluids/oils to permit reuse or to extend life of machine tool cutting fluids or coolants. All necessary components and accessories should be included with the system to recondition the fluid by removing tramp oils, sludge, chips or particulates that shorten cutting fluid or coolant life. Optional features to provide de-ionized water and to automatically meter and mix emulsified or water soluble cutting fluids should also be included if available. The system can consist of one or more of the following type units: (1) Fluid reconditioning units designed to mount directly on large machine tools; (2) Mobile coolant recycling unit capable of removing dirty cutting fluid from machine sumps and replacing it with reconditioned fluid. The unit may either recondition cutting fluid while nearby the machine tool or at a remote location. The unit's operator must be able to push or pull the unit about the machine shop unassisted; (3) Fixed coolant/cutting fluid recycling equipment in a remote location in the machine shop to be used in conjunction with a mobile coolant recycling unit as detailed above. Additionally, the NAWCADLKE is interested in determining if this item, along with the technical information required to support the equipment, is available in the commercial marketplace and meets the definition of commercial items as defined in the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) Part 211. The technical information would be required to include a technical manual that would contain operation instructions, maintenance instructions and illustrated parts breakdown. Other data required would be supplemental provisioning technical documentation, a provisioning parts list, provisioning and other procurement screening data and a support material list. Those sources interested in this Request for Information are invited to submit their information, and a description of any currently available product that meets our requirements. This is not a Request for Proposal and no solicitation is available. The Governmen will not respond to any request for solicitation packages under this Request for Information. The Government will not pay for any information requested in response to this RFI nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government.
