A -- INTEGRATED TECHNICAL INFORMATION FOR THE AIR LOGISTICS CENTERS SOL F41624-96-R-5003 POC Contact Point-Carol Franco, (210) 536-5774, Jim Day (210) 536-5770 PKR-SSS-96-06. Sources are being sought for research in support of the Logistics Research Division of the Armstrong Laboratory (AL/HRG), Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Scientific and technical research is being sought to develop the functional, informational, technical, and human-computer interface requirements for an integrated maintenance information system for the Air Logistics Centers. This is the second phase of a depot prototype system development effort. A complete requirements analysis of depot aircraft maintenance operations was performed in Phase I (Contract Number F41624-94-C-5021). Phase II will use the results of Phase I to design, develop, and test a depot-level prototype integrated maintenance information capability. Potential offeror must have demonstrated experience in the areas of depot-level maintenance, information engineering, systems integration, test and evaluation, Computer-Aided Logistics Systems (CALS) specifications and standards, automated document processing, Standard Generalized Mark-up Language tagging schemes, standardized document interchange methodology, and software and hardware development. In order to provide potential offerors additional information about this effort, an Industry Day and one-on-one conferences will be held in February at AL/HRG, WPAFB. Those interested in participating should contact the sponsor in January for the exact time and location. Also, the Logistics Research Division Technical Document/Center (TDC) will be available by appointment to allow reviewing of reserved documetnation related to this effort. This program will use the Research and Development Streamlined Contracting Procedures as announced in the Federal Register, Volume 59, Number 200, Tuesday, October 18, 1994 which is now described in DFARS 235.7000. This announcement is not a request for proposal or annoncement of solicitation. SIC Code 8731 has been assigned. Firms should indicate whether they are a woman-owned business. Additionally, information is required as to whether your firm is considered a small business. The general definitionto be used to determine whether your firm is small is as follows: ''A small business concern is a concern that is independently owned and operated, is not dominant in the field of operation in which it is bidding on Government contracts, and with its affiliates the number of employees does not exceed 500 persons.''
