Synopsis No. 0676-95. The UGV/S JPO is fabricating prototype tactical unmanned ground vehicles (TUGV) for user appraisals scheduled to be conducted during DEM/VAL. The TUGV is required to perform reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RSTA) tasks for soldiers and Marines. Further, these RSTA tasks must be executed in all conditions and environments where soldiers and Marines are expected to operate. This project office is interested in obtaining information which may be used to assist in specifying a RSTA module for integration and use on the prototype TUGV system. Information on the availability of developed RSTA packages/modules which have integrated at a minimum, a FLIR, day reconnaissance camera, laser range finder and GPS to accomplish computation of target location in military grid coordinates is requested. Information is requested on RSTA packages capable of: 1) Operating or being adequately protected to operate, in all environments, 2) Being made compatible with standard military system open architectures, 3) Detecting and providing target imagery adequate for the operator to recognize targets as small as 2.3 square meters at ranges up to 2000 meters, and 4) Computing military grid locations of targets using a laser range finder and GPS. No fees will be paid to the provider of this information nor will contract result from this announcement. (0356)
