Postal Service seeks to improve support of mail processing operations
by providing commercially available Maintenance, Repair, and Operation
(MRO) items directly to mail processing and distribution sites
nationwide. This program, known as the Repair Parts Initiative (RPI),
involves electronic transfer of orders to contractor(s) who will then
process and deliver the items to the postal site. The items will
include: mechanical parts for mail processing equipment (belts, motors,
bearings, pulleys, etc); electrical and electronic items; lights and
lighting; custodial supplies and equipment; safety and security; HVAC
and plumbing items; tools; and common hardware items. Proposals will be
available on or about 01/05/96 and will be due on or about 03/25/96. A
solicitation package may be purchased by sending a non-refundable
cashier's check or money order made payable to ``Disbursing Officer,
USPS'' in the amount of $100.00 to Gerald Schwermann, USPS, Topeka
Purchasing Center, 500 SW Montara Pky, Topeka, KS 66624-9402. A
preproposal conference will be scheduled as stated in the solicitation.
