(317)306-3066 This is a market survey requesting information to satisfy
a requirement for a supersonic airborne Radome capable of covering
frequency range of 2.0-18GHz with minimal transmission loss. this item
will be used in a U.S. Navy airborne, 20 inch diameter podded,
electronic countermeasure system. the navy intends to investigate
availability of qualified sources that have a commercial-off-the-shelf
(COTS) or non-developmental-item (NDI) product that can be used in a
cost effective manner. potential vendors must have the capability of
manufacturing a Radome that meets the following criteria: a) has
transmission losses of 1 dB or less in the I & J band frequency bands;
b) will meet supersonic loading requirements while providing minimum
losses and phase distortion over the stated frequencies and c) present
minimum effects to a monophase radar with a minimum of 100 kW of RF
energy to the antenna and have a minimal effect of a
Receive-Only-Direction Finding Interferometer Antenna System.
Responding parties should provide a description of their proposed
hardware, identify its present utilization, status of production,
qualification, lead time, and production cost predicated upon an
initial procurement of 4-8 engineering models beginning in FY-98. only
written responses will be accepted as this market survey is for
informational and planning purposes only and does not constitute a
request for bids or proposals and is not to be construed as a
commitment by the government nor does the government intent to pay for
any expense incurred by any of the respondents to this market survey.
Interested sources should submit requested information to Naval Air
