Equipment Division invites you to participate in the second open Season
covering Federal supply schedule group 66, part II, section R,
laboratory and scientific equipment, for the period of February 1, 1997
(or date of awrd whichever is later) through January 31, 1999.
Solicitation is to issue on or about April 18, 1996, closing on or
about may 30, 1996. This is a two year contract. This will be an
indefinite delivery indefinite quantitycontract, FOB destination. Use
of the schedule will be on a nonmandatory basis. Anyone considering
submitting an offer is advised to review the solicitationthoroughly.
Significant changes all existing contracts under this multiple award
schedule Solicitation will be modified Ti include an option to extend
ther term of the contract an additional five year, clause I-FSS-164E
will apply. The Contracting Officer may exercise the option by
providing a written notice to the contractor Ten (10) months before the
expiration of the contract. The contract expiration date is 01-31-99.
In the event that a contractor does not wish to exercise the option to
extend, the contractor may submit a new porposal for the option
period. The Contracting Officer will consider submission for identicl
items when the offer is equal to or lower than the current contract
price. Current contractors will be allowed to submit offers for
identical items during the first open seasononly, when an offer is
received for an identical items with a price that is equal to or lower
than the current contract contract price for that identicalitem. The
Contracting Officer shall conduct competitive negotiations with new
offerors and the current contractor who has the item on contract. The
Co will award one contract for each specific product through
competitive negotiations on the basis of the lowest net price offered.
Any offers for identical items received after this open Season will be
automatically rejected. Clause I-FSS-125, orders exceeding the maximum
order (Mo) (Aug 95) will apply. This clause provides instructions for
placing orders the maximum order as defined in the delivery order
limitation clause (52.216-19). To assis the customer agencies to
determine when they should seek a price decrease, a level called the
maximum order will be established under the contract. When an agency
order exceeds the established Mo amount, It is recommended that the
agency contact the vendor for a reduced price. The vendor will not be
obligated to accept thse order in accordance with FAR 52.216-19.
Contractors awarded a contract under this multiple award schedule will
be required to place their pricelists on a menu driven on-line
database system designed to provide customers with access to products
and services under gsacontracts. Contractors will be encouraged to
traansmit their file submission electronically through the EDI
Government facnet system using a value added network (Van). The
necessary format and information will be orovided on diskette to
contractors who are not EDI capable. If you re interested in receiving
