Option to extend the term of the contract. The Scientific Equipment
Division intends to exercise an option to extend the term of
thecontract, clause I-FSS-164E, for current contract issued
underfcgs-Z2-93-0036-1-N. The option to extend will allow current
contracts issued under the above Solicitation to extended for an
additional five year period with annual open Season periods. Current
contractors will have the opportunity to exercise this option by
completing modification number 600. Modification 600 is applicable for
those contractors who wish to extend current contracts only if all
discounts, terms and conditions of the previous award remain the same.
Otherwise, the current contract will expire on January 31, 1999 and a
new offer may be submitted at the time of the next open Season for
award consideration. Use of this schedule will be on a nonmandatory
basis. The submission of identical items will be considered when the
offer is equal to or lower than the current contract price. Current
contractors will be allowed to submit offers on identical items during
the open Season period only. Receipt of offers on identical items will
result in competitive negotiations with new offers and the current
contractor who has the item on contract. Any awards made for identical
items will be valid for ther term of the contract. Any offer for
identical items received after this open Season will be automatically
rejected. Clausefss-125, orders exceeding maximum order (Aug 95) will
apply. This clause provides instructions for placing orders over the
maximum order (Mo) defined in the delivery order limitations clause
(52.21619) to assist the customer agencies to determine when they
should seek a price decrease. A Mo will be established under each
contract. When an agency order exceeds the Mo amount It is recommended
that the agency contact the vendor for a reduced price. The option to
extend will be completed through modification 600. This modification
will contain terms and conditions applicable to the contract. Contact
