Barry, (317)306-3066 This is a market survey requesting information to
satisfy a requirement for a radar downconverter(s)/IF Receiver
covering the radio frequencies of 7.5 - l0.0 GHz and 14.0 - 17.0 GHz.
This item will be used in a US Navy airborne, 20 inch diameter podded,
electronic countermeasure system. The Navy intends to investigate
availability of qualified sources that have a commercial-off-the-shelf
(COTS) or non-developmental item (NDI) that can be used in a cost
effective manner. Potential vendors must have a radar
downcoverter(s)/IF Receiver assembly that meets the following criteria:
a) Provide RF frequency conversion to an IF frequency between 60-400
MHz, b) Provide two-three matched channels of linear and logarithmic
amplification, c) Have integral received signal limiting automatic
frequency control, automatic gain control and sensitivity time
controlalong with single/dual channel phase detection for monopulse
operation, and, d) Operate with a magnetron pulsed radar system with
variable pulse widths from 0.1to 2.0 usec at peak powers greater than
100kW. Responding parties should provide a description of their
proposed hardware, identify its present utilization, status of
production, qualification, lead time, and production cost predicated
upon an initial procurement of 4-8engineering models beginning in
FY-98. Only written responses will be accepted as this market survey is
for informational and planning purposes only and does notconstitute a
request for bids or proposals and is not to be construed as a
commitment by the government nor does the government intend to pay for
any expense incurred by any of the respondent to this market survey.
Interested sources should submit requested information to Naval Air
