(317)306-3066 This is a market survey requesting information to satisfy
a requirement for a digital processor unit to perform analog to digital
conversion and high speed digital processing for radar search,
acquisition, and tracking functions. This item will be used in a US
Navy airborne, 20 inch diameter podded, electronic countermeasure
system. The Navy intends to investigate availability of qualified
sources that have a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) or
non-developmental item (NDI) that can be used in a cost effective
manner. Potential vendors must have a data processor that meets the
following criteria: a) Provides the digital processing power to perform
search, acquisition, and three-axis tracking of a software controlled
non-coherent radar system with an expandable number of high speedA-D &
D-A conversion and I/O ports, b) Optional capabilities of radar scan
conversion and potential growth for coherent radar signal processing is
desired, but not required, c) Include a basic operating system
supported by a widely available software language with tools, and, d)
Operate in an airborne pod environment which includes carrier take-offs
and landings. Responding parties should provide a description of their
proposed hardware, identify its present utilization, status of
production, qualification, lead time, and production cost predicated
upon an initial procurement of 3-4 engineering models beginning in
FY-98. Only written responses will be accepted as this market survey is
for informational and planning purposes only and does not constitute a
request for bids or proposals and is not to be construed as a
commitment by the government nor does the government intend to pay for
any expense incurred by any of the respondent to this market survey.
