(317)306-3066 This is a market survey requesting information to satisfy
a requirement for a RF/IF signal generator to generate signals for
built-in-test (BIT) in a radar simulator. This item will be used in a
US Navy airborne, 20 inch diameter podded, electronic countrmeasure
system. The Navy intends to investigate availability of qualified
sources that have a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) or
non-developmental item (NDI) that can be used in a cost effective
manner. Potential vendors must have a RF/IF BIT assembly that meets the
following criteria: a) Provides RF signals over a frequency range of
7.5 - 10.0 GHz and 14.0 to 17.0 GHz and selected fixed frequencies in
the 60 - 400 MHz range, b) Variable output from -100 to +10dBm, c)
other desirable capabilities are pulsed and frequency agile through
external control to permit the generation of electronic countermeasures
techniques such as range gate pull-off, lobing, swept modulation
schemes, etc, and d) Operate in an airborne pod environment which
includes vibration and shock levels representative of carrier take-offs
and landings. Responding parties should providea description of their
proposed hardware, identify its present utilization, status of
production, qualification, lead time, and production cost predicated
upon an initial procurement of 3-4 engineering models beginning in
FY-98. Only written responses will be accepted as this market survey is
for informational and planning purposes only and does not constitute a
request for bids or proposals and is not to be construed as a
commitment by the government nor does the government intend to pay for
any expense incurred by any of the respondent to this market survey.
Interested sources should submit requested information to Naval Air
