This item will be used in a US Navy airborne, 20 inch diameter podded, electronic countermeasure system. The Navy intends to investigate availability of qualified sources that have a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) or non-developmental item (NDI) that can be used in a cost effective manner. Potential vendors must have an assembly that meets the following criteria: a) Capable of providing oil-free, dehydrated air for pressurization of waveguide and rotary joints in an airborne radar system, b) Provide 200 standard cubic inches of dry air per minute at a pressure of 23 PSIG at altitudes of 50,000 feet, c) Operate from either 28Vdc or three phase 400Hz, and, d) Weight 15 pounds or less, e) Incorporate a self-regenerating air drier capable of providing air dehydrated to a dew point of -50F or better. Responding parties should provide a description of their proposed hardware, identify its present utilization, status of production, qualification, lead time, and production cost predicated upon an initial procurement of 3-4 engineering models beginning in FY-98.
