Barry, (317)306-3066 This is a market survey requesting information to satisfy a requirement for a data recorder system capable of providing storage means for digital information. This item will be used in a US Navy airborne, 20 inch diameter podded, electronic countermeasure system. The Navy intends to investigate availability of qualified sources that have a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) or non-developmental item (NDI) that can be used in a cost effective manner. Potential vendors must have an data recorder assembly that meets the following criteria: a) Total data capacity of 8 Gigabytes minimum with a throughput rate of 1 Mbyte per second minimum, b) Operate in an airborne pod environment including carrier take-offs and landings, and dc) Fit within a 20 inch diameter pod shell minimizing size and weight. Responding parties should provide a description of their proposedhardware, identify its present utilization, status of production, qualification, lead time, and production cost predicated upon an initial procurement of 3-4 engineering models beginning in FY-98.
