Daigle. This project is being procured for competition as a local requirement for 8(a) Contractor's in the U.S. Small Business Administration's Region IV only. Sealed bids will be accepted from all eligible business concerns for Great Smoky Mountains National Park Project ER-GRSM 17A2 in Blount and Sevier Counties, Tennessee; and Swain County, North Carolina. The project consisting of severe storm damage repair to various roads thourghout the park, which includes road reconstruction, slide repair work, mechanically-placed rock embankments, concreted slope protection, aggregate surface course, hot asphalt concrete pavement, and other miscellaneous work. Principal items of work and approximate quantities are as follows: Roadway Excavation, 10,000 CUYD; Loose Riprap, 5,000 CUYD; Mechanically-Placed Rock Embankment (Concreted), 5,000 CUYD; Aggregate Surface Course, 6,000 Ton; Hot Asphalt Concrete Pavement, 1,500 TON; and Structural Concrete, Classes A(AE), 400 CUYD. The project is expected to fall within the price range of $2,000,000 to $5,000,000 and has a construction completion date of August 31, 1997.
