The work to be performed under this acquisition includes (a) earthwork for approximately 2.31 miles of pipelines which includes constructing approximately 1.61 miles of operation and maintenance roads with gravel surfacing, (b) furnishing and installing approximately 2.21 miles of 4-inch through 54-inch diameter pipe which may be either reinforced concrete pipe or PVC pressure pipe, (c) earthwork for and constructing miscellaneous hydraulic structures, (d) furnishing and installing cast iron slide gates and lifts, (e) furnishing and installing gate valves with valve wells and air vents, (f) earthwork for approximately 0.96 mile of PVC membrane lining and 0.51 mile of canal reshaping, (g) furnishing and installing 0.96 mile of PVC membrane lining and a CMP drain inlet, (h) furnishing and installing approximately 0.95 mile of six stand barb wire fence, (I) seeding approximately 16.5 acres of disturbed construction area, (j) removing and disposing existing concrete structures and (k) constructing a compacted embankment. The estimated price range of the work is $1,000,001 to $5,000,000. The work is located approximately 1/4 mile east of Fruitdale, South Dakota in Butte County. Solicitation packages are anticipated to be available January 26, 1996. Requests for solicitations should be received on or before January 12, 1996. The bid opening is tentatively scheduled for February 27, 1996, at the office of the Bureau of Reclamation, Newell Field Office, 209 Dartmouth, Newell, South Dakota. The contract is to be completed by January 1, 1997. There is no charge for the first copy of the solicitation, additional sets will be provided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 each. After issuance, the solicitation may be viewed, without charge, at the following offices of the Bureau of Reclamation: Great Plains Regional Office, Federal Building, Room 2031, 316 North 26th Street, Billings, Montana or Newell Field Office. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Bureau of Reclamation.
