The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is seeking potential vendors who can provide Image based Systems to process tax remittances received at the Submission Processing Centers of the IRS. The systems will be located in Memphis, TN; Cincinnati, OH; Kansas City, MO; Austin, TX; and Ogden, UT. The systems must be capable of the following: processing various IRS tax return forms (varying sizes) with remittances submitted; reading scannable vouchers of various sizes (currently using 3.5'' x 8.5''); encoding, endorsing and sorting of checks; and printing an audit trail record defined by the IRS. The systems must be user friendly with minimal operator intervention using CRT/VRT terminals, it should have upgrade capabilities and enhancements for future processing. The IRS requests that vendors having the capabilities described above submit a technical capabilities statement to the POC before Februry 9, 1996 and contact the POC to schedule a conference to demonstrate their capabilities. These conferences will be held at the Constellation Centre located in Oxon Hill, MD. Those vendors who are located in the Washington Metropolitan area will conduct their conferences on their premises. (0004)
