USACERL requires a research design for sampling alluvial settings, and extraction and analyzation of continuous soil cores at Fort Riley, Kansas. Period of service will be no later than 31 December 1996. The proposed procurement will be on a sole-source basis IAW FAR 6.302-1. The Contracts Office intends to negotiate a firm fixed-price contract with the Department of Geography affiliated with the University of Kansas because they have the only professionally and academically qualified individual with experience on Fort Riley in paleoenvironmental reconstruction based on phytolith analysis.
