COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 10,1996 PSA#1507ADVANCE TECHNICAL PROGRAM AVAILABLE FOR A JOINT CONFERENCE ON
INTEGRATED MONITORING, DIAGNOSTICS & FAILURE PREVENTION This special
international conference is jointly sponsored by the DoD Joint Oil
Analysis Program Technical Support Center (JOAP-TSC), the Society for
Machinery Failure Prevention Technology (MFPT) and the University of
Wales, Swansea. The JOAP-TSC is hosting the conference at the Adam's
Mark Hotel in Mobile, Alabama on April 22 through 26, 1996. The joint
conference provides an effective means for the interchange of ideas and
technology among maintenance, condition monitoring, diagnostics and
failure prevention communities. The sponsors share the common goal of
maximizing the service life of machinery and structures at minimum cost
without compromising availability or safety. The conference is being
planned as a TECHNOLOGY SHOWCASE for methods, techniques, hardware and
software currently available for achieving this goal. The Keynote
Address on ``The Business End of Condition Monitoring'' will be
presented by Carlos Talbott, North American Reliability Manager for M&M
Mars. The six other invited speakers and their topics are: Henry C.
Pusey, MFPT Executive Director, ``An Historical View of the MFPT
Society''; Jack Hessburg, 777 Chief Mechanic, ``The Boeing 777

development, applications and case histories on condition monitoring,
nondestructive testing, oil analysis, vibration analysis, performance
analysis, reliability analysis, failure analysis, maintenance concepts,
diagnostics, prognostics, life extension, sensors technology and more.
Anyone concerned with any of these areas should plan to attend this
