(303)393-2849 This Project, Convert Chillers/Condensers to HCFC,
Project No. 554-96-103, located at the VA Medical Center, Denver,
Colorado, requires the services of an A/E firm. The work shall include,
but be not limited to the following: a) The Scope of this Project is to
convert all existing Main Hospital Building Chillers and Condensers
from CFC refrigerant to HCFC refrigerant, to comply with all
requirements of the Environmental Guidelines for reduction of Ozone
depletion. Additional, a required 10 year maintenance overhaul of the
chillers/condensers will be accomplished, and the Energy Management and
Monitoring Systems will be upgraded. b) Specifically, all
chillers/condensers of 5 tons or more shall be included in these
requirements, that are located in Buildings 1, 4, 5, 19, 21, 24 and 38.
c) This project requires a two phase design; First, a Design
Development Phase will be conducted, which shall conclude with the
selection of the specific units to be addressed with a preliminary cost
estimate for budgeting purposes; Second, after selection of the
specific areas from the Design Development Phase, complete Bid
Documents will be prepared. d) This project shall be designed in
accordance with all applicable codes, and the A/E shall furnish
complete Plans and Specifications for Bidding purposes. Full
construction period services and site visits will be required. This
procurement is 100% set aside for Emerging Small Business, Standard
Industrial Code 8712. Qualified firms, within a 100 mile radius of
Denver, submitting applicable SF 254/255 no later than close of
