COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 16,1996 PSA#1510Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899 70 -- MAINTENANCE AND MATERIAL MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE POC Jeff Marshall,
LMSO-360, Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899. Lockheed Martin Space
Operations (LMSO), a NASA Prime Contractor at Kennedy Space Center, FL
(KSC), seeks sources capable of providing an automated integrated
maintenance management and logistics support system which will optimize
the efficiencies, scheduling, and visibility of material requirements
needed for maintenance support and inventory visibility across a widely
dispersed user community which may well exceed twenty geographical
sites. The system is a 4GL product capable of being mounted on and
compatible with a variety of state-of-the-art client-server platforms.
It will utilize a relational database management system (RDBMS)
capable of housing and rapidly manipulating large data sets required
for seamless maintenance/logistics interface. It will have an industry
recognized standard for a security subsystem, the ability to segregate
materials and property by contract or project, and contain easily
defined transaction tables coupled with a comprehensive audit trail for
output reporting capability. This system will also be capable of
tracking property control requirements as defined by FAR Part 45 and
have interface capability with government support functions such as
MILSTRIP. The system must also have a comprehensive vendor tracking
capability for out sourced maintenance actions. This system will
provide the enabling capability for employment of such concepts as
maintenance requirements planning, capacity leveling, material
requirements forecasting, JIT, EDI while providing a paperless
maintenance management and inventory support infrastructure.
Optimization and compatible interface with existing bar-coding
technology is also a requirement. The system must also be capable of
tracking requirements necessary for the control of hazardous materials
at a level and depth sufficient for EPA compliance. This synopsis is
for the sole purpose of identifying prospective sources and does not
commit LMSO to make an award, nor to reimburse cost of submitting data.
Interested firms should submit responses to reach LMSO by 020996. In
addition to indications of interest, submit data on company
capabilities, experience in this or related fields, and such other data
as may be required to indicate bona fide capability to perform the
requirements described above. Address: Lockheed Martin Space
