J -- MAINTENANCE SERVICE FOR AND SUPPORT OF THE NASA LANGLEY RESEARCH CENTER AIRCRAFT SOL 1-136-GN.1119 DUE 030196 POC Linda Tenney, Contract Specialist, (804) 864-2536. NASA Langley Research Center plans to issue a Request for Proposal 1-136-GN.1119 on or about January 31, 1996, with a proposal due date approximately 30 days thereafter. NASA Langley Research Center uses aircraft to conduct research programs and support the Center as required. The aircraft are operated as Public Use and Civil aircraft. NASA has established its own airworthiness certification program under Public Law 85-568, ''National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958,'' for Public Use aircraft and follows FAA rules/regulations for Civil Aircraft. The Contract will provide Aircraft Inspection, Maintenance and Repair at the Contractor's Facility with inspection packages provided by the Government. A list of defects/discrepancies shall be provided to the Government for repairs/testing/replacement with a price quote for each. The maintenance and repair service shall also be conducted anywhere LaRC operates its aircraft. Engine repairs to Rolls Royce RB211 engines, B-737 landing gear overhaul, strip and paint the Beech T-34C, Aircraft Service Bulletin compliance, FAA Airworthiness Directive compliance and additional inspection requirements are examples of services that may be required under this contract. Offerors must be able to obtain certified parts and materials in an expeditious manner. This procurement will be issued as a Time and Materials requirement for twelve (12) months with four (4) options for an additional twelve (12) months each. The proposal due date is estimated to be thirty days after the RFP issue date. The SIC Code for this procurement is 4581 and the small business size standard is $5M in average annual receipts for the previous 3 years.
