Manager, (415)794-6153. The Postal Service intends to award one or two
contracts for architect/engineer (A/E) services for the design of 2
new postal facilities - Folsom, CA El Dorado Hills Branch (approx.
18,000 sq. ft.) and Sacramento, CA Metro Starion (approx. 25,000 sq.
ft.). The successful A/E will receive CADD software of USPS medium size
standard plans. Both facilities will have retail operation. USPS will
award 30% design contracts to the successful firm(s) with options to
increase their contract(s) to include complete construction documents
and construction administration contingent on final approval of each
project. Firms that have the qualifications to perform the services
previously described are invited to submit a completed and current
SF-255 ''Architect/Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire'' for
Specific Project, and a completed and current SF-254,
''Architect/Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire''. They must
also submit a completed and current SF-254 for each of their
consultants to the San Bruno Facilities Service Office, 850 Cherry
Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94099-0310. Submittal must be received no later
than February 19, 1996. Interested firms with more than one office must
indicate on their SF-255 the staffing composition of the office in
which the work will be performed. Consideration will be given to firms
responding to this advertisement in accordance with the following
order of preference: (1) Within a 50 mile radius of the Sacramento, CA
Main Office, (2) Sate of California, (3) Out of State. Other
consideration will be: (A) Comparable project experience within the
past 5 years, (B) Current USPS projects and workload, and (C) A list of
key personnel who will be directly involved in the project. The minimum
staffing requirements of the primary firms is 11 with the following
minimum number of registered professions, including consultants: 2
architects, 2 civil engineers, 2 mechanical engineers, 2 electrical
engineers, 2 structural engineers, 1 landscaping architect.
Architectural and engineering firms will be considered as local only if
their sole office is in the local geographical area or they have a
local branch office and all the architectural design, coordination, and
management of the project will be performed in that office. There is no
restriction on the geographical location of consultants. The contract
contains a requirement for firms to provide evidence of current
insurance of $200,000 of Errors and Omissions per claim. Participation
of Minority-Owned Business is a consideration in U. S. Postal Service
architect-engineer selections. It is prohibited to pay any fee,
commission, percentage, or brokerage fee to any person or firm
contingent upon or resulting from award of a contract for this project.
No other general notification for this project will be made.
Submissions will not be retained or returned. Please submit your SF254s
and SF255s by U. S. Postal Service Certified Mail/Return Receipt
Requested if you want acknowledgment or receipt of your forms. FAX
submittals will not be accepted. This is not a request for proposal.
