The San Antonio Business Opportunities Council (SABOC) is holding their annual Federal Government Contracting Conference on February 13, 1996, at the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. The focus of this year's conference is on the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). Workshops will be conducted regarding EDI and specialty assistance for small businesses. A preconference reception will be held the evening prior at the Rio Rio Cantina on the historic Riverwalk. Registration will be held on-site on the 13th from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.; however, advance registration is highly encouraged. Registration for non-exhibitors is $45 per person, which includes the preconference reception, admission to the conference exhibits, workshops and the luncheon the day of the conference. Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison has been invited to be the keynote speaker. Those approved Value Added Networks (VANs), necessary for EDI procurement, have also been invited to exhibit. This is an excellent opportunity for small businesses to network with large prime federal contractors and other local small businesses; while also gaining valuable insight into recent changes in government acquisition.
