The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Coastal Systems Station is seeking potential sources on a high-performance device to provide directional data. The device must provide very accurate heading data (approx. 1.0 degree/hour) over a four hour period and heading rate data. Devices with additional data outputs about the pitch and roll axes are desireable. Because the system in which the device is to be used is expendable, per unit cost is second only to heading performance in importance. Minimal size and weight are also of extreme importance since the device would be retrofitted into the existing operational system. Magnetically based or slaved devices are not of interest.
