66 -- CCD CAMERA FOR JEOL 2000FX ANALYTICAL ELECTRON MICROSCOPE SOL RFQ2-36376(SLS) DUE 013096 POC Contact Sharon L. Sinnott, Telephone (415)604-6927, e-mail address to Sharon_Sinnott@qmgate.arc.nasa.gov NASA-Ames Research Center intends to procure a slow scan CCD camera and electron microscope interface which be attached to a JOEL 2000FX AEM through an existing 35 mm camera port. The micro scope interface shall include a removable beam stop for diffraction experiments. The image phosphor shall be at least 24 x 36 mm. The camera system shall be compatible with an existing Apple Quadra 900 computer running IPLab Spectrum software. The camera shall be of the cooled, low noise variety and shall have a grade 1 CCD detector. It shall collect images which are at least 12 bits deep and at least 1500 x 1000 pixels in size, but images shall be binnable to provide for smaller image files and more rapid image collection. Pixel size of the camera shall be at least 9 x 9 micrometers. At full resolution, images shall be collected in not more then 1.5 seconds. At less than full resolution, images shall be collected at a rate of several frames per second, such that real-time electron diffraction patterns can be collected in serial fashion. Detailed specifications will be included in the RFQ. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) portion of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA). Request for copies of the RFQ must be submitted in writing and directed to Sharon L. Sinnott. Telephone requests will not be accepted. The RFQ will be released on or about 15 days after publication of this synopsis. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Agency.
