TVA intends to enter into a sole-source personal services contract with the Regents of the University of Colorado, Center for Advanced Decision Support for Water and Environmental Systems (CADSWES) for continued software support of the Power and Reservoir Simulation Model (PRSYM) system. The NC/CADSWES staff is being used for (1) capturing reservoir operation policies in appropriate linear programming representation; (2) because of their experience in developing PRSYM, NC/CADSWES is uniquely positioned to better perform system maintenance activities; (3) train in-house IS and RSO staff so that more of the maintenance functions can be assumed by TVA in the future; and (4) provide additional enhancements to the PRSYM software.
