RUSSIAL, (215)697-9678 The Fleet Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to competitively procure high resolution digital side scan sonar systems in support of the Naval Oceanographic Office's fleet of multi-mission ships and hydrographic survey launches(HSLs). The systems shall consist of all equipment necessary to produce, analyze and digitally archive high resolution sonar graphic images of the sea floor. This shall in general require, at minimum, a sub-surface towbodies, telemetry/towing cables, and topside data acquisition, processing, display and archiving units. The systems will be installed aboard T-AGS 51, T-AGS 60 and T-AGS 45 class oceanographic survey vessels and accompanying HSLs, and will be used at sea for extended periods, typically under adverse environmental conditions. It is anticipated that a firm fixed price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity type contract will result from the solicitation with an estimated procurement quantity of fourteen (14) to twenty-five (25) digital side scan sonar systems. The resultant contract will provide for a base period of performance of one year, along with three one-year option provisions. The solicitation will require the submission of cost/price and technical proposals. All responsible sources may request the solicitation and submit a proposal which shall be considered by FISC Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia. The Government will not pay for information received.
