The work includes the following; a. Asbestos abatement of pipe insulation, vinyl asbestos tile, and mastic within the base building and Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) mechanical Chase. b. Removal and disposal of PCB light ballast. c. Demolition of the interior of the existing 14,400 square foot base building. d. Installation of restrooms, breakrooms, workshops, offices, and ancillary offices within the base building. e. Replacement of all the utilities to the base building and operational ATCT. The ATCT shall remain in operation during the construction. f. Installation of new awnings, replacement of exterior walls, new roof, and addition of a new storefront. g. ATCT elevator refurbishment. h. Installation of new electrical/mechanical/plumbing systems as required by the project. A pre-bid conference will be established at time of issuing solicitations. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. There will be a $50.00 non-refundable charge for the plans and specifications. The proposed procurement is unrestricted regarding business size. The BOD is an approximate date only. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for this procurement is 1542. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
