10 -- JOINT DIRECT ATTACK MUNITION PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM SOL F08626-94-C-0003 POC Emily L. Jay, Contracting Officer, Audrea J. The Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) Program Office, ASC OL/YU, intends to modify contract F08626-94-C-0003 to include an effort to support the design, prototyping, testing, and implementation of affordable improvement concepts for the JDAM weapon system. Potential areas of improvement include enhanced GPS navigation, enhanced guidance and control, target location error reduction, GPS anti-jam technology, GPS selective availability anti-spoof module (SAASM), integration on non-1760 aircraft, and application of JDAM to other warheads. An impact assessment of the improvement concepts on the JDAM weapon and aircraft integration along with an evaluation of improvement concepts against the JDAM Joint ORD will also be included in this effort. Extensive knowledge of the JDAM weapon system design is required in order to be capable of performing this effort. As the JDAM contractor, McDonnell Douglas Aerospace has the knowledge and expertise needed to develop improvements for the JDAM weapon. The Air Force does not currently possess any technical data concerning the JDAM design, therefore the JDAM Program Office intends to issue a contract modification to McDonnell Douglas, who has design responsibility, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, ''Only One Responsible Source.''
