The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA, is soliciting offers for a 3-year effort to repair machine tools and related equipment at its work sites located at (and within 35 miles radius of) China Lake, CA, and at Point Mugu, CA. Routine, preventive and breakdown maintenance is required as well as packing and unloading machine tools and associated equipment. Maintenance of specialized shock absorbent wook block flooring on which tools are mounted and any related shop utilities (air, water, electrical) will also be required. General requirements are that personnel possess the necessary licenses, certifications and training to perform and to operate trucks, carts, sweepers, fork trucks and 15-ton overhead crane. Examples of machine tools to be maintained and repaired are CNC and conventional lathes, mills, grinders, dye penetrant, non-destructive test equipment, EDM, water jet cutter, laser welding and cutting machines, sheet metal and CNC punch presses, CMM, and mechanical inspection equipment, rapid prototype machines, heat treat furnaces, sand blasting equipment, plating and printed wiring board shop equipment, DI systems, hydroforming machines, composite filament winding and autoclave machines. Personnel required to perform approximately 40,000 hours on/near China Lake are Working Leader, Maintenance Machinist, Maintenance Electrician, Oiler Helper, Laborer.
