This is a notice of intent to prequalify contractors desiring to be placed on prequalified contractor's list for a period of twelve months from notice of prequalification for the construction of new postal facilities and selected remodeling and alteration projects in various locations in New Mexico and may include but not limited to, the Anthony-Main Post Office, approximately 19,000 square feet; Las Cruces-Carrier Annex, approximately 30,000 square feet; Roswell-Carrier Annex, approximately 24,000 square feet; Hobbs-Main Post Office, approximately 29,000 square feet; Aztec-Main Post Office, approximately 14,000 square feet; Alamagordo-Main Post Office, approximately 35,000 square feet; Albuquerque-North Valley Station, approximately 27,000 square feet; Eldorado Station, approximately 28,000 square feet and Four Hills Station, approximately 22,000 square feet. Construction is conventional building in accordance with US Postal Service standard plans. Estimated construction cost range for each project is 1 million to 4 million dollars. Planned construction dates are unknown at this time. Primary factors that will be considered are: construction experience, financial stability, capacity, and references and previous clients. Other factors to be considered will include: project management capabilities, company organization, previous construction of Postal Service facilities, geographic location and MBE participation and commitment. A target of seven most highly qualified firms will be prequalified. Applications will be evaluated by the Contracting Officer's staff, and all firms will be advised within 60 days of receipt of their application as to prequalification status. Firms selected as being the most highly qualified will be placed on the prequalification list.
