Naval Research laboratory has a requirement for labor and equipment to replace approximately 588 square yards of 18''x 18'' carpet tiles and approximately 656 L.F. of 4'' vinyl cove base located at Bldg. 32 throughout the first floor area. The contractor shall base his bid on temporarily relocating office furniture and equipment as necessary for new carpet tile replacement. The new carpet replacement consist of removing old 18'' X 18'' carpet tiles and moldings (reducers) on the first floor and dispose of off of N.R.L. Reglue all loose floor tiles. Replace all damaged or missing floor tiles before new carpet installation. Repair all holes, cracks, depressions, or rough areas using materials recommended by the carpet manufacturer. Provide floor free of any foreign materials and broom clean. Install carpet with a waterproof, nonflamable, non-toxic carpet adhesive. Newly installed carpet shall be smooth, uniform and secure with a minimum of seams. Provide vinyl/rubber moldings (reducers) at all finished carpet edges meeting hard surface flooring at doorways. The carpet shall be a 28 oz. level loop. The carpet shall have a static propensity (AATCC 134) 3.5 KV or lower. After the completion of carpet installation, the contractor shall clean-up, vacuum and dispose of all carpet debris off N.R.L. Relocate office furniture and equipment back into original positions. The contractor shall visit job site for exact location, dimensions, and conditions for new carpet installation. Provide carpet, wall base and moldings samples for selection.
