A -- PREPROPOSAL CONFERENCE FOR FY 97 ADVANCED CONCEPTS AND TECHNOLOGIES IN SUPPORT OF TRADOC BATTLE LABS AND LOUISIANA MANEUVERS (ACT II PROGRAM) BROAD AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT SOL DAAH04-96-R-BAA6. POC Contracting Officer, Anna G. McLaughlin, 919/549-4301. Preproposal Conference Announcement, 15-16 April 1996. Headquarters, Training and Doctrine Command and the Army Materiel Command will be hosting an Advanced Concepts and Technology II (ACT II) Fiscal Year 97 Pre-Proposal Conference (PPC) on 15-16 April 1996 at the Omni Newport News Hotel in Newport News, Virginia. The Act II program encourages application of commercial technologies which are mature or nearing maturity to address immediate Army concerns. This access to the commercial market is intended to shorten the acquisition cycle and reduce the development cost. The ACT II program will offer industry relief from the costly and time-consuming burden of proposal preparation by inviting submissions of brief two-page concept papers that detail innovative technology demonstrations. Army areas of interest and registration for the conference will be relayed through the World Wide Web at the following address ``www-tradoc.army.mil/battle.labs/index.htm'' beginning 26 January 1996. The PPC ACT II pamphlet and registration form can also be requested by electronic mail addressed to ``Byrumj@monroe-emh6.army.mil'' or ``Gauthierj@monroe-emh6.army.mil'' or by calling CPT J.G. Byrum at (804) 728-5985 or Jo Ann Gauthier at (804) 727-4481. The registration must be received at the address indicated in the pamphlet no later than 14 March 1996. You must be registered in order to attend the conference. The conference is limited to the first 550 registrants. The Omni Newport News Hotel has reserved a block of rooms for this conference at a special rate if you call not later than 14 March 1996. To obtain this rate call the Omni at 1-800-THE-OMNI or (804) 873-6664 and identify yourself as attending the ACT II Conference. (022)
