Engineer, Furnish, Integrate, Install, Test, and Maintain Meteorological Information Standard Terminal (MIST) workstations and communication networks which shall be capable of receiving, transmitting, storing, printing, and manipulating single data types. The MIST system shall replace the existing Automated Digital Facsimile System (ADFS), the Meteorological Data System (MEDS) and Air Force Digital Graphics (AFDIGS) and Meteorological Satellite Receiver Program (MSPR). MIST shall process the various type of data such as polar- orbiting and geostationary satellite imagery data, currently provided on (ADFS),alphanumeric data currently provided by (MEDS), graphic data currently provided by (AFDIGS) and GOES data currently provided by MSPR. MIST must also be compatible and interface with the currently installed GFE computer protocols, hardware and software at the Communications Front-End Processor (CFEP) located at Air Force Global Weather Central and Satellite Data Handling System at Offutt AFB, NE, the Automated Digital Weather Switches at Tinker AFB OK, Croughton AB, England and Hickam AB, HI, and the Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center at Monterey, CA.
