The U.S. Agency for International Development in Honduras is seeking curricula vitae from qualified individuals for a Non-Personal Services Contract for a Timber Sales Advisor Position. The Timber Sales Advisor and the National Forestry Development Corporation's (COHDEFOR) staff will be responsible for the improvement and continuity of the standing timber sales system in Honduras. The contractor will review the present situation and, with the assistance of short-term technical assistance and COHDEFOR's staff, develop the necessary policies and methods to improve the transparency, competitiveness and environmental acceptance of the timber sales system. COHDEFOR's field technicians will be responsible for the implementation of the approved procedures. The advisor will also help coordinate the technical assistance of the short-term experts in this field. It is imperative that the forester have the following minimum qualifications: A) Overall Qualifications of Proposed Individual: 1. Breadth and depth of relevant technical experience in the evaluation, design, implementation, and assessment of timber sales management programs. 2. Minimum of ten (10) years of increasingly responsible experience in forest management with emphasis on timber sales management activities. 3. Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Forestry. 4. Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish. B) Quality of past performance in providing similar technical services.
