J -- DRYDOCKING REPAIRS TO 41 FOOT UTILITY BOATS Sol. DTCG80-96-B-3FA761. Due 031296. Contact David Sherman, Contract Specialist at (617) 223-3082. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary for the Drydocking Repairs to the 41 Foot Utility Boats. Work for these drydocking repairs is to be performed at the contractor's facility. The proposed contract is to be awarded for one year with an option for three additional years. It is the intent of the Coast Guard to award drydocking repairs to boats stationed at Group New York and Group Boston separately. The work which may be performed includes but may not be limited to the following items: 1. Renew Cabin and Pilot House. 2. Preserve Freeboard. 3. Preserve Aluminum Underwater Body. 4. Preserve Main Deck. 5. Clean and Inspect Diesel Fuel Tanks. 6. Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assembly. 7. Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propeller Shaft . 8. Renew Watertight Scuttles. 9. Renew Hull Seam Welding. 10. Renew Aluminum Frames, Stiffeners, and Brackets. 11. Renew and Test Valves. 12. Provide Temporary Logistics. The Contractor will be responsible for transporting the vessel if the proposed facility is in excess of the 100-nautical mile radius of U.S. Coast Guard Group New York or Group Boston. The vessel's are 41 Feet in Length. The first boat will be delivered as soon as the contract is awarded. There will be a non-refundable charge required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard in the amount of $100.00 for requested drawings and publications. The proposed contract listed here is set aside for small businesses only. Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 07 February 1996. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
