M -- OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER PRETREATMENT PLANT SOL BEP-96-15(TN). Contact Teri Berkery, Contract Specialist, 202/874-2438. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has a requirement for operation and maintenance of an Industrial Wastewater pretreatment Plant at the Washington, D.C. Facility. BEP requires the services for the treatment of (1) Dalmor wastewater (a caustic solution of sodium hydroxide containing castor oil, intaglio inks and some hydraulic oils from leaks and varsol from cleaning up the press) and (2) for plating wastewater (containing hexavalent chromic acid, copper sulfate and nickel sulfamate in an aqueous solution). The period of performance will be October 1, 1996 through September 30, 1997 with four (4) one-year option periods. The Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment will be operated twenty-four (24) hours a day, five days a week with Saturday and Sunday operations frequently being required. Interested firms must submit a written request for Solicitation No. BEP-96-06(TN) to the Contract Specialist, Teri L. Berkery within thirty (30) calendar days of the date of this announcement.
