Qualified organizations capable of providing inpatient/outpatient medical services (hospitalization, intensive care, emergency care, consultations, special diagnostic testing, etc) for Federal prisoners are sought. The successful offeror(s) shall furnish facilities, equipment and personnel necessary for the medical care of Federal prisoners. Location of the facility shall be within a thirty-five mile radius of the Federal Correctional Complex, Butner, North Carolina. The Federal Correctional Complex is currently comprised of a low and a medium security Federal Correctional Institution housing male prisoners and a FederalPrison Camp housing female prisoners. The projected combined total population of the complex is 2,200. The resulting contract will be a requirements type contract and services and/or supply quantities cannot be assured. The estimated solicitation issue date is February 25, 1996 and the estimated closing date is March 29, 1996. The contract period of performance will include a base period not to exceed twelve months with four one year option periods. It is anticipated that services will commence October 1, 1996.
