Unit, USAID/Kingston, 2 Haining Road, Kingson 5, Jamaica The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Jamaica has a requirement for the services of a technical assitance contractor under it's Uplifting Adolescents Project. The purpose of the project is to increase the number and range of economical and social opportunities available to Jamaica's marginalized and out-of-school youth, ages 10-18 years so that they may become more responsible and productive citizens. The 4.5 year project will provide direct funding to existing and sustainable NGOs that presently work with marginalized youth throughout Jamaica. The contractor will provide project inputs (long and short-term personnel, commodity procurement, in-country training, etc.). A pre-proposal conference will be held in USAID/Kingston, Jamaica, two weeks after the RFP is released. The date of the pre-proposal conference will be stated in the RFP. The cost of travelling from the U.S. to the pre-proposal conference will be reimbursed under the winning contract. The RFP will be available on or about January 29, 1996. Interested parties shall submit their request for the RFP via FAX 809-929-9944 or by mail to the address above. The deadline for submitting the proposals will be 45 calendar days after the effective date of the RFP. Please note however, that in the interests of saving time, photocopying and mailing costs, the preferred method of distribution of USAID procurement information is via the Internet or by request of a solicitation on 3.5'' floppy disk (WordPerfect 5.2 format). Receipt of this RFP through Internet must be confirmed by written notification to the contact person noted above. It is the responsibility of the recipient of this solicitation document to ensure that it has been received from INTERNET in its entirety and USAID bears no responsiblity for data errors resulting from transmission or conversion processes. USAID encourages the participation to the maximum extent possible of U.S. entities that are small business concerns, small disadvantaged business concerns, including women-owned concerns,historically black colleges and universities, whose student body is at least 40 percent Hispanic American, and private voluntary organizations controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals including women in accordance with Part 19 of the FAR and Part 726 of the AIDAR.
