all labor, material and equipment necessary to renovate a presently
undetermined number of wood frame multiple story units. The intent of
this project is to renovate the existing units to conform to current
building codes, modernize the units and expand the size of many of the
units within the existing building envelopes. Upon final completion
the total number of units will be reduced. The contractor will be
required to employ intensive construction management and scheduling
techniques and multiple work crews to accomplish the work within the
required completion time. Liquidated damages will be included in the
resulting contract which shall consist of interior demolition,
wallboard, carpentry, interior finishes, electrical and mechanical
work. Plans and specifications may be obtained by forwarding a
non-refundable certified check or a money order in the amount of $20.00
to the address shown above. This procurement is issued pursuant to the
Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program and is open to large
and small business participation. The applicable SICC is 1522. This
procurement is estimated between $1 and $5 MILLION. All responsible
sources are invited to submit a bid which will be considered by the
U.S. Coast Guard. FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS
ENTERPRISES: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small
and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
