Stephen Harris/Likt/(801)777-4205 The Air Force has a requirement to
establish a contract for Contractor Logistic Support (CLS) for the
hardware maintenance of the B-1 and B-52 Mission Data Preparation
System (MDPS). This system provides mission planning capabilities for
the aircraft. This system consists of a Micro 5 Concurrent Computer
Corp computer and peripheral equipment, monitors, printers, keyboards.
The requirement is for hardware maintenance only with a once a month
required preventive maintenance visit with the balance of the month to
be on a 4 hour on call response time for problems with the system. The
system must be maintained at a 95% effectiveness level. The systems are
located at ten sites in the US. There are 22 main base systems and 5
deployable systems. The deployable systems can be deployed both within
the US and outside the US. The deployments will require support by the
contractor This will be a two-step procurement with the first step,
Request for Technical Proposals (RFTP) to be issued approx 12 Feb. We
anticipate a Fixed Price Award Fee contract with a one year basic and
three one year options. We anticipate an award date of 1 Sept 96. A
tentative date for a site visit/pre bid conference is set for 12 Feb

issue/response date will be 13 Feb 96. No telephone requests. Only
written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor are
acceptable. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid,
proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. Requests for copies
of solicitations must reference the entire solicitation number,
including purchasing office identification number. To expedite your
request, limit the number of individual solicitation numbers requested
per letter to not more than 10. Don't request information on this
requirement until after the issue date. This proposed procurement is
under a 100 percent small business set aside, the size standard of
annual receipts of $20.0 million dollars. An Ombudsman has been
appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during
the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the
Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or
contracting officer, but to communicate contractor, concerns, issues,
disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government
personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict
confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not
participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection
