USAF ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS CENTER NEW HORIZONS SYMPOSIUM - JOINT C4I POC Ms. Claire Goulet, 617-221-1580. The Lexington-Concord Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) in participation with the USAF Electronic Systems Center (ESC) is pleased to announce a two-day symposium entitled New Horizons to be held on 26-27 March 1996. The Electronic Systems Center at Hanscom AFB, MA is one of the Air Force Materiel Command's major acquisition centers. ESC specializes in the acquisition of electronic systems, notably Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence or C4I. The theme of this year's New Horizons Symposium is ``Joint C4I''. It will provide information on the acquisition changes and new business opportunities within the US and international C4I communities. The two day program will be held at the Stouffer Renaissance Bedford Hotel in Bedford, MA. One major change from past symposia is that the entire two day program will be unclassified. The first day's session will begin with a Welcome Address and an overview of the Electronic Systems Center's organization by Lt. Gen. Charles Franklin, ESC Commander, followed by the Keynote Address ``Joint C4I'' by the Honorable Emmett J. Paige, Jr., Assistant Secretary of Defense for C3I. The remainder of the day will focus on trends in the Joint C4I Environment and New Business Opportunities at Electronic Systems Center, including Rome Laboratory, Standard Systems Group, Materiel Systems Group, and the 38th Engineering Installation Wing (ETW); Volpe National Transportation Systems Center; and Federal Computer Acquisition Center. The second day will begin with a Keynote Address by Mr. Blaise Durante, Deputy Assistant Secretary (Management Policy and Program Integration) and Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, and will then continue with briefings on New Business Opportunities. Also, General Len Kwiatkowski, Program Director for MILSATCOM, will be giving a special presentation. Included in the Program Activities is a luncheon on both days, and a reception on the evening of the 26th at the Stouffer Renaissance Bedford Hotel. The registration fee of $350 for members and $375 for non-members for the symposium will be used to defray expenses incidental to the conduct of the symposium. This includes printing and mailing costs, administrative expenses, coffee and doughnuts, luncheons, reception and a contribution to the Chapter's General Fund. All billeting and transportation arrangements are the responsibility of the attendees. The Stouffer Renaissance Hotel in Bedford, MA (617) 275-5500 is the conference hotel and a block of rooms has been reserved. To receive the AFCEA conference room rate of $95, mention AFCEA when making your reservations, and make them by 22 February 1996. Registration for the briefing must be accomplished on the attached form and mailed to Lexington-Concord Chapter, AFCEA, at the address shown. Telephone registrations will not be accepted. The cut-off date for registration is 15 March 1996. At that time, your registration will be confirmed and additional administrative details will be furnished to you. Cancellations must be made by 15 March 1996 to receive refund of payment. Please note that each registration fee covers one attendee only. Attendance is limited to 275 persons. Reservations will be taken on first-come, first-served basis. A large response is anticipated, so please register early.
