Poirier, Contracting Officer, 617-377-9475. Electronic Systems Center (ESC) intends to solicit on a non-competitive basis, to SIMPACT Associates, Inc., San Diego, CA. The Purchase order will be for eight (8) Asynchronous EIA RS-232 Input/Output (I/O) Boards, SIMPACT Part No. IPC6000AB-C-SPCE FEP VMEBUS EIA232, 16 Port 6U 4MB. Purchase order No. F19628-96-M-0059. These parts will be used in support of the installation and checkout, system acceptance testing, and operations and support of the Advanced Interface Control Unit (AICU) AAMDS modification in the LV AICU's installed at the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) HI Region Operations Control Centers (ROCC), at the CW Sector Operations Control Centers (SOCC), and at the CE SOCC. It is considered that SIMPACT designed and developed the Asynchronous RS-232 Input/Output (I/O) Boards and is currently the only source with the requisite technical knowledge and capability required to meet the Government's requirements for system support. Statutory authority for award of this contract is 10 USC 2304 (c) (1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, ''Only one Responsible Source''.
