The USCGC Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific, Naval Engineering Division, intends to contract for storage and maintenance of shaft handling gear for the U.S. Coast Guard POLAR CLASS Icebreakers. Major work items include the overhaul of the Elwell-Parker propeller and shaft handling equipment in the first year of the contract and the protected storage and preventative maintenance during periods of non-use. The anticipated date to issue the solicitaiton will be 01 March 1996; the anticipated deadline for receipt of bids will be 1 April 1996.
